Big Week.

Well this has been a whirlwind week. Mom sought out her 2nd opinion and she liked both doctors. She used one to do the surgery and one to treat her. She had surgery this past Friday and they removed the lump. It went very well. She didn't even need a drain. That was a blessing. All of her other tests came back fine, they didn't find cancer anywhere else. Thank you God. She's doing fine, just cannot lift her arm. She should go back in about a week and hopefully everything from here on out is smooth sailing. YAY!
Now lets get on to some other things. Our team, the Alabama Crimson Tide, won the national championship a week ago. It was great. We got out rematch with the LSU Tigers and SHUT THEM OUT! ROLL TIDE! I cannot wait to go get me and the kids a Championship shirt! #14! I was stoked!
Tuesday, I got my hair cut.... a foot got chopped off. I would have never guessed it was that long but apparently it was. It feels so much better. I feel I've lost 15 lbs but probably more like 2 or 3 lbs. It was sooooooo heavy!
Well, guess it is pic time. Let's hope from here on out that my blogging will consist of good news. I hope so. This last year has been a train wreck and 2012 starting off like this was not the best either. They say what you do on the 1st will be what you will do all year. Well on the 1st we were still awaiting mom's test results of her biopsy. So lets hope I'm not spending all year worrying!

My long hair.

Bye Bye hair!

Silly boy!

Mom.

Mom's visit with the oncologist went well, but she is still going to seek a second opinion just in case. This doctor said she had a 95% survival rate with the cancer she has. He said it was operable and she would have to go through like 6 weeks of radiation after the operation. After that she would be on a pill for 5 years. So good news, thank God. This doctor said he could start next week with her but she wants a 2nd opinion from a doctor one of our friends uses and he has beat cancer 4 times. I don't blame her. If it was me, I would want to make 100% sure that I was comfortable with my treatment. But if all goes as planned, she should be done with it by the end of February-mid March depending on how fast she can see the other doctor. She said she really like this one but he agreed with her, that it never hurts to check with someone else when it's dealing with something serious like cancer. So good news, finally. Thank you for any prayers thrown our way and please continue to pray.

Way to go 2012...

Well, 2011 ended with a baby shower for a close friend of mine. She is expecting a baby boy by the end of February. I miss her tons too. Her hubby is in the Army and I hope to be able to go see her, maybe this spring or summer. It also ended with my mom having to have a biopsy on her breast. Of course, I've been freaking out all weekend, through the new year. Having to go through a holiday weekend with the doctors offices being closed, make for lots of worry when you are waiting on test results. She got her results back last night. It is indeed cancer. Not a cyst, not a calcium deposit... freaking cancer. I know cancer doesn't necessarily have to be hereditary, but I have absolutely no experience with this. Yes, I was freaking most of last night. She is going to the cancer doctor today to see what they can do. The OBGYN who ordered the mammogram thinks it is treatable and they can just go in and take it out. Lets pray. They thought it would be next week before she got to go to the cancer doctor but she managed to get in today, which I hope is a good thing. To me, Janauary 3, 2012, will be a day which will live in infamy in this family.
On to something better. On New Year's Day, Jerry taught the kids to play football. I even have a video of my little Quarter Back! Bella had no interesat in playing but Kaleb loved it. Typical boy. Of course, I have pix.

and the video of my QB!

I'll update later when I find out more about my mom.
